There is something about engines, wheels and horsepower that really gets my blood pumping. Consequently, I have a passion for all motor sports however it is motorcycle racing where it is at for me. The raw power of motorbikes, the way the engine screams when you rev them hard and the pure acceleration that makes it feel like your head is going to be ripped clean off your shoulders is what makes motorcycling so appealing.
Photographing motorcycling racing allows me to combine two hobbies of mine ( I ride a bike and spectate at motorbike races – I sensible and don’t race myself) so it is something I try to do whenever I can.
Photographing motorcycle racing is a challenge, and even when I manage to ‘nail’ the shot there are times when the color photo looks better in black and white. Yep, I have to admit that I think photos and prints of racing motorcycles look better in black and white than they do color, and I think the following photos prove my point:-

All of the above photos were captured with a Canon 7d camera combined with the Canon 100 – 400L IS lens.
