There are a few Youtube video clips doing the rounds about the Wingsland S6 selfie drone, and the poor battery life in particular. Many of the clips I have seen are stating a battery life of 2 – 3 minutes, and one video in particular is stating a battery life of less than a minute.
Since I have just taken delivery of the Wingsland S6 selfie drone I thought I would do my own “battery test” to see if the battery life of the Wingsland S6 drone is as bad as what these reviewers were saying. As I had already ordered the S6 before seeing the video reviews I have to say that I was hoping the reviews weren’t accurate, otherwise I had just gone and wasted two hundred and twenty quid.
In order to test the battery life of the Wingsland S6 drone I charged the battery to 100%, inserted it in the S6, launched the S6 and left it hovering whilst I recorded it. I have heard drones use just as much juice hovering as it does flying around, so I couldn’t see the point in flying the S6 and just let it be.
The million dollar question is “How did the Wingsland S6 drone perform and what sort of flight times can you get?” You can find the answer to this in the video footage below.
Okay the rather limited battery life is the Wingsland S6 drone’s biggest problem, and whilst it isn’t great it is sufficiently long enough to take some decent aerial selfie shots and video footage.
