So here we go again, what is it with some photographers? Why do they have to stick their oar in where it’s not wanted and bad mouth people (i.e. cyber bully and troll them) for no good reason?
It seems that I have managed to attract the attention of another photographer who wants to publicly slate my website and launch personal attacks on me! I am not a member of any photography forums, and I haven’t been for many years. In my experience photography forums are full of nasty, spiteful people who want their egos massaged whilst kicking down and stomping on any other member who dare disagree with them or challenge their opinion. I know some people love spending hours on end in photography forums, and if that’s what they want to do, fine, it’s just something I refuse to do. The bottom line is “I don’t do photography forums”.
Well, it seems my new stalker has come straight off a photography forum, and I have to say I am not overly impressed about it. A kind reader has recently left a comment on some of my posts and has obviously posted a link to my site on a photography forum - I am not going to name and shame which one. I’m glad the reader liked some of my posts, I am happy the reader found some of my posts useful and I am grateful the reader was bothered to leave some constructive comments.
It is always nice when someone thinks my posts are worthy of promotion and sharing on external sites, however this is one instance when I wish the reader hadn’t bothered. The share on the photography forum has resulted in some new visitors to my site, the majority of which are welcome, but it has also resulted in some nasty bloke visiting my site, leaving horrible, spiteful and personal comments and also bad mouthing my site on the photography forum for the world to see. Nice……
Had I asked this bloke to visit my site and critique it I wouldn’t be so bothered but this bloke came to my site on his own accord – I didn’t ask him to! If he didn’t like my site or disagreed with the content he could have simply clicked off and went back to his photography forum and left me alone. Instead, this bloke decided to post spam comments on my site and then go back to the photography forum having a real go at my site. Needless to say, I am not impressed and since there is nothing I can do I am stuck hoping it won’t damage my site’s reputation and quickly blow over. What is wrong with people?
Keen photographer addicted to cameras, lenses and everything photography related. Feel free to follow me in my photography ramblings, and if you have any thoughts, comments, queries or anything else to add I would love to hear from you.
