Ever since I can remember I have never liked backpacks. Throughout my school years all my peers carried their books and stuff around in backpacks but not me. I hated the feeling of anything on my back, and this has not changed. Camera backpacks seem to be the most popular way to carry photography equipment, but I have never bought in to this and prefer to use sling style camera bags instead.
My main camera bag is the Lowepro 75AW top loader camera bag. This camera bag is perfect when I am walking around on foot, however I cannot use this bag when out on my bike because the Lowepro 75AW camera bag is too big and hangs down too far to allow me to cycle. I do have the chest harness for my Lowepro 75AW but I have found that I like having a bag on my chest as much as I do on my upper back.
Fortunately, I have found an alternative camera bag to the 75AW top loader I can use when I am out with my camera and using my bike to travel around. The alternative camera bag I have found is the Lowepro Inverse 200AW camera bag.
The Lowepro Inverse 200AW camera bag is basically a large bum bag, or fanny pack as they are also known, you wear around your waist.
Like all Lowepro camera bags the Inverse 200AW is tough, durable and exceptionally well made. One of the most important features of a camera bag is its ability to keep the water out. I need to be one hundred per cent certain my expensive camera and lens, and all of my accessories are protected at all times and will not get water damaged when I get caught out in the rain.
The first thing I do with all the camera bags I buy is to carry out what I like to call the “waterproof test”. This is a test where I rigorously check the waterproofness by saturating the bag with water and then inspecting it to assess whether it leaked or not. If the camera bag passes my “waterproof test” I will use it knowing that whatever Mother Nature decides to throw at me, i.e. no matter how hard it rains, my photography equipment will remain dry and unaffected.
Below is the Lowepro Inverse 200AW camera bag undergoing my waterproof test:-
The Inverse 200AW camera bag is large enough to carry around everything I need when I am out with my camera on my bike. Once I have the straps pulled tight the Inverse 200 AW camera bag sits tightly on my waist and doesn’t sag or drop, regardless of how much I fill it. The Inverse 200 AW camera bag is very comfortable to wear and I can go out for several hours and not feel any ill effects when I return home.
The Lowepro Inverse 200AW is the perfect camera bag for cyclists and all photographers using a bike when they are out with their camera and you can buy it from:-
